Dan joined Butterfly Effects as a BCBA in 2016, servicing Tucson, AZ.  He is a senior consultant with Butterfly Effects.

Dan earned his M.A. from Northern Arizona University where he specialized in Low Incidence Disabilities (Severe/Profound) while also earning a certificate in Positive Behavior Supports as part of the required coursework toward becoming a BCBA. He received his BCBA certification in 2015.

Dan started off working in the Vail (AZ) Unified school district teaching students who had been identified as being on the Autism Spectrum in a life skills or self-contained classroom. From there, he went on to work with students across the district helping to create functional learning environments often utilizing structured teaching models to help include students in general education learning environments.  Since, Dan has been working with families supporting clients at home and in the community to help target meaningful goals that facilitate individuals’ independence and quality of life.

Dan has experience with Applied Behavior Analysis, its principles, & many of the multiple manifestations of the science in its application toward individuals for whom it may benefit. This includes: Functional Communication Training, Natural Environmental Teaching, Pivotal Response Training, American Sign Language, Alternative Augmentative Communication Devices, PECS, & social communication domains. In addition, he has spent several years conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and creating Behavior Intervention Plans for individuals of all ages and disabilities.

Dan is, currently, a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) & Association of Positive Behavior Supports, (APBS).
