Lauren joined Butterfly Effects as a BCBA in 2015, servicing Greenville and Goldsboro, North Carolina. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Senior Behavior Consultant and Company Trainer with Butterfly Effects.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and her Master of Science degree in Special Education from Dowling College in Oakdale, NY. She obtained her certification in Applied Behavior Analysis from the online world campus of Penn State in August of 2012. Lauren received her BCBA certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board in September of 2012.
As a BCBA, she demonstrates expertise in the areas of young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, improving communication and functional language, verbal behavior skills, and creating behavior reduction programs. She also enjoys conducting parent trainings with families and presenting workshops on ABA to other professionals in the field as well as families.
Lauren has experience with in home and community programs. Her experience is in preschool programs for children with development delays, staff training, providing early intervention services to younger clients, and creating meaningful, functional based goals with school-aged clients. She has visited Dr. Carbone’s clinic in Stony Point, NY to observe a center based applied behavior analytic model with an emphasis on verbal behavior. She often researches current literature before implementing behavior reduction programs. She also has experience in using the principles of ABA to increase oral food intake including challenges with texture, variety, and portions.
Lauren is a member of the Autism Speaks chapter of Eastern North Carolina, Autism Society in Greenville, NC, Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis (NCABA), and Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). She also receives weekly publications from the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis.
