Mayra joined Butterfly Effects as a BCBA in 2018, servicing Houston, Texas
Mayra completed her Medical Surgeon Degree in the University Popular Autonomous of Puebla and worked as a medical practitioner and Emergency Medicine doctor (E.R.) in Mexico. After her son’s diagnosis of Severe Autism and Cerebral Palsy, she became strongly involved in the world of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In 2007 Mayra started her career as a Behavior Interventionist and Parent Trainer in EU. Mayra completed her advanced courses of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at the National University in the USA. Mayra received her BCBA certification in 2015.
Mayra has 11 years of experience working with children and adults with special needs in a clinic, home, school and community settings. She is fluent in English and Spanish and Proficient in American Sign Language and has extensive experience in Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT). Mayra has experience with training Behavior Interventionist in several countries in Latin America and she has participated as a speaker at the ABA annual conferences in Mexico City.
