At Butterfly Effects, we take an ABA approach to all of our teaching, including academics. If the motivation is just right and the expectations manageable, children will learn. They are designed for learning. Applying the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to academic tutoring and test preparation, our tutors employ the tools of constant encouragement and positive reinforcement to establish a working partnership with your child.

At Butterfly Effects, we work with students operating at all levels from remedial to advanced placement. We are experienced in helping students overcome challenges of any kind including dyslexia, speech problems, ADHD, as well as developmental challenges.

- Target and improve weaknesses in fundamental basics (core competencies)
- Teach him or her how to set goals and self-monitor progress
- Improve study skills and attitudes toward studying and assignment completion

- Have a clear understanding of the rules and expectations and the benefits that come with adhering to them
- Believe they are being listened to and truly heard
- Experience success and the acknowledgement that comes with it
- Learn how to break goals down to specific manageable tasks
- Appreciate and eventually internalize the rewards for learning
- Develop fundamental skills with our writing, math, and reading programs
- Bring up his or her grades in any subject area at any level
- Study for an upcoming exam
- Mentor the completion of homework assignments including writing projects
Test Prep
Butterfly Effects ABA-Trained Tutors are experienced with helping students master the material and the approaches needed to pass a number of tests including:- PSAT, SAT, and SAT Achievements
- CLEP
- ACT
- GRE
- GED
- Florida FCAT and FCAT2

- Teach parents how to provide additional support and motivation
- Make referrals as needed for speech therapy or other needs
- Go into a student's classroom to work with the student or develop a cooperative plan with teachers
