Learn more about ABA therapy in
Zachary and how it can make
a difference for your family.
Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, is a type of therapy that is evidence based. It is mostly used to improve or change targeted behaviors in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ABA services focus on breaking down multi-step tasks into smaller more manageable ones. This therapeutic method has been successfully used in treating behaviors having to do with communication, social skills, following directions, completing everyday tasks and waiting.Learn more
The amount of time that a child will undergo ABA therapy will vary depending upon the case. Services are highly individualized and are based on the needs of the child and his/her family. There has been research conducted that proves that receiving intensive ABA therapy for one to three years can significantly benefit a child across multiple domains. Focused ABA treatment consists of around 10-25 hours of services that focus on just a few target areas for improvement.Learn more
It has been shown that ABA therapy is most efficient and effective when it is performed in the home, school or community. While clinic-based settings are also beneficial, it is more effective to teach a child both behavioral and social skills in the midst of his/her daily life. This helps the child to learn how to apply these skills in his/her natural environment.Learn more
Children with ASD benefit from ABA therapy in a number of ways. If your child has communication, adaptive living, social or behavior deficits he/she will benefit from these services.Learn more
