Learn more about ABA therapy in
Apex and how it can make
a difference for your family.

What is ABA therapy?

ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is an evidence-based method of treatment focusing on improving or changing targeted behaviors. It is most frequently used in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other behavioral disorders. ABA therapy teaches individuals how to perform complex tasks by breaking them down into smaller steps. It can be utilized to effectively improve behaviors that many children with ASD struggle with. These behaviors include the communication of needs, waiting, forming friendships, asking for assistance, following instructions and performing tasks.

How long will my child’s ABA therapy take?

This type of therapy is customized, so how long it takes will depend on the child and his or her needs. We do know that receiving intensive ABA services for one to three years tends to result in a child making significant gains across many areas. Receiving focused ABA services for 10-25 hours can assist in a child making improvements in a few targeted areas.
