a difference for your family.
What is ABA therapy?
ABA therapy is a very popular treatment to help children with autism learn the skills they need to become more independent and succeed in school and in life. It also helps reduce problematic behaviors. All therapy is individualized to the child’s needs and the family’s preferences. ABA works by providing a child with positive reinforcement for performing a task, or a small part of a complex task. Rewards can range from a small toy or letting them select a video to watch to praise or something that engages that particular child. It has been proven by numerous studies that through ABA therapy a child will learn to perform the task autonomously in time.
Learn moreHow long will my child be in ABA therapy?
ABA therapy requires your commitment as a parent or caregiver. Expect your child to receive therapy a set number of hours per week, depending on the skills they need to master. If your child needs a focused program, they will take between 10-30 hours total of therapy. ABA therapy is most effective over one to three years.
