What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)is a therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder that uses rewards to encourage positive behavior. New skills are broken up into steps. Each time a child completes a step, he or she gets a reward or a preferred item, which can include praise, a chance to watch a video or another such reward item. The idea behind ABA is encourage children to master a skill so there is meaningful behavior change.

There isn't a standard time frame since therapy duration depends on several factors, such as behaviors to work on and where your child falls on the autism spectrum. Family support can also play a major role. On average, ABA therapy lasts from one to three years and can take place from 10 to 30 hours a week, depending on your child’s needs.
