Learn more about ABA therapy in
Citrus Heights and how it can make
a difference for your family.

What is ABA therapy?

ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, therapy includes techniques focusing on rewarding positive behaviors to bring about meaningful change. Rewards can include a playground trip, a toy or anything meaningful to the child. Both the American Psychological Association and the Autism Society of America call the evidence-based program a best practice for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. ABA programs will vary depending on the child's specific needs with the goal of the therapy being to decrease problem behaviors.

Is in-home ABA therapy beneficial?

In-home therapy is highly beneficial as it allows a child to practice new daily living skills in the setting where they will use them. Your child may also receive ABA therapy at school, which can help with skills they will use there, such as interacting with their peers. ABA therapy in a community-based center is also useful as it limits the distractions found in most homes.
