What is ABA therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA for short, is a type of evidence-based therapy that is used to correct or change certain behaviors found in children impacted by autism spectrum disorder (ASD), among other disorders. It consists of the child being taught how to dissect complicated tasks into smaller tasks that make them easier to perform. ABA therapy is utilized in teaching a child how to communicate their needs, wait, make friends, ask for help, follow directions and attend to tasks.
