Fort Lauderdale and how it can make
a difference for your family.
What is ABA therapy?
ABA is an acronym for Applied Behavior Analysis. It’s a type of therapy used since the 1960s to help children with autism. The flexible therapy model can increase good behaviors in children and decrease ones that hinder learning. ABA’s primary focus is positive reinforcement for small steps that are part of a complex task, such as getting ready in the morning.
Learn moreHow long will ABA therapy take?
Normally, children are in ABA therapy for one to three years. The length of treatment depends on the established goals and your child's progress. If your child receives 10 to 25 hours of ABA treatment a week, it should be enough to help them meet their goals.
Learn moreWhere does ABA therapy typically take place?
ABA therapy can take place in the home, at your child's school, or at a location in the community. Home ABA therapy has several advantages. If your child needs to work on daily living skills, such as hygiene, home is the ideal place to learn these skills where he or she will use them. It also lets parents and siblings learn how to apply the therapy. If your child needs top work on socialization with others, school or community therapy will give them this option.
Learn moreWhat are the benefits of ABA therapy?
