a difference for your family.

What is ABA therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, is a type of evidence-based therapy that is utilized in improving or changing certain behaviors and skills in children with behavioral or development disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This therapy works by teaching the individual how to break down complex tasks into smaller steps that are easier for him or her to handle. This method of therapy has been used successfully to improve behaviors such as the communication of needs, developing friendships, asking for assistance, following instructions and attending to tasks.

Does ABA therapy require many hours?

Since ABA therapy is highly individualized, it is difficult to determine how long your child will need to undergo treatment. Recent studies indicate that intensive ABA services performed over a period of one to three years allow for children to make significant progress in multiple skill areas. Focused ABA services provided for 10-25 hours can also be helpful with specific areas or behaviors.
