What length of time is required for ABA therapy?

The ABA therapy program will be tailored to each child's needs and skill levels, so there's no predetermined length of time for the program. However, experience and research indicate that the most long-lasting results are achieved with a program duration of between one and three years across a broad spectrum of areas. Focused ABA therapy plans provide between 10 to 25 hours of therapy that target limited areas.

Will my child's ABA therapy be done in a clinical environment?

Most ABA therapy is provided in the familiar environments of the child’s school, home or community since maladaptive behaviors usually occur in these locations. Clinical settings are used sometimes, but the majority of therapy is given in the child's natural surroundings. This also enables the child to learn daily living skills that are unique to their lifestyle.
