Learn more about ABA therapy in
Hercules and how it can make
a difference for your family.

What is ABA therapy?

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It's a well-established therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). It uses reinforcement, such as the child's favorite treat, to encourage learning new skills. The therapy can teach a wide range of skills that your child can use at home, school or in the community.

How many hours a week of ABA therapy does a child need?

How does in-home ABA therapy work?

A therapist will come to your home and work with your child one-on-one. Your family goes about your everyday life. This allows the therapist to teach your child skills and behaviors that will help them at home. Parents and caregivers can make themselves available to learn how to reinforce the desired behaviors covered in each session, although this should occur after therapy ends for the day.

What do children get out of ABA therapy?

ABA can help your child thrive in the family environment or in the community. They will learn how to communicate and socialize. Therapy can minimize disruptive, anti-social behaviors. Your child can also learn how to do more things for himself, which usually makes the child feel proud of himself or herself and have more confidence in their abilities.
