Is ABA therapy effective?

Certain difficult or harmful behaviors present in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be difficult to address. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has been scientifically proven to assist in improving or changing a child’s behaviors. This evidence-based technique teaches children how to take complicated tasks and break them down into smaller, more discrete steps so that the task may be successfully completed. This method has been utilized to teach children affected by ASD how to communicate needs, make friends, wait, follow directions, complete a task and ask for assistance.
