a difference for your family.
What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of evidence-based therapy used to educate children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This method improves or changes specific behaviors by teaching children how to break down complicated tasks into smaller steps that they are easier to complete. It’s been used to improve behaviors such as communicating needs, waiting, developing friendships, asking for help, following directions and completing tasks.
Learn moreIs the complete ABA therapy process long?
Since ABA therapy is individualized for each and every child, the length of time in which a child will undergo treatment is dependent on the child’s case. Receiving intensive ABA services for one to three years can lead to significant improvements in multiple areas for a child with ASD. Focused ABA services can include 10-25 hours of programming that is specifically tailored to work on just a few areas of improvement.
Learn moreCan ABA therapy be completed outside the home?
ABA therapy is available in clinic-based settings, as well as at home, school and within the community. Most children see the best results when their therapy is performed at home, in school or in their community. This allows the child to learn daily living skills within his or her natural environment, where maladaptive behaviors can be addressed as they come up.
